Recently I was invited to become a member of The Artist Gallery Nouveau – an online gallery and auction group on Facebook, hosted by artists Brandi Dayton and Tina Murphy!

Each month I have the possibility to make some of my original artworks available for the auction, and this weekend will be the first time. 🙂

So this week I have been working on a new painting for the auction. I made it on a wooden panel and on a larger size than I used before for my portraits (15.7 x 23.6 inch / 40 x 60 cm). And I must say that I am in love with working on wood! The texture is smooth but still has a subtle, organic texture. And I love the sturdiness of it as well.

I really enjoyed making this portrait! Here is a detail of the face:

I am calling this portrait “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free”. I can see it in her deep dark eyes, telling it to me. Or maybe her eyes are just like a mirror, reflecting it back to me…
