At Sunset

This is a new painting that will go up for auction at The Artist Gallery Nouveau this weekend – just like the one that I wrote about yesterday.

This painting is also made it on a wooden panel, size 40 x 60 cm (15.7 x 23.6 inch). The base color blue is a medium value, a bit to the green side. The highlights in the face are a light/pale pinkish color. Here is a detail of the face:

At Sunset - Detail

I really love the texture on the background, and the highlights on the face. It looks like she is touched by the evening light.

At Sunset. Acrylic paint, charcoal, and soft pastel, on a hardwood panel. Size: 40 x 60 cm (15.7 x 23.6 inch).

This painting will be up for auction on Saturday & Sunday (May 21-22) in The Artist Gallery Nouveau on Facebook. If you would like to check out all the wonderful art and bid, click here to join the group.

  1. Dear Juna,
these are so beautiful again. I like also the background color and structure.
May I ask you which fixativ and/or vanish you usually use for your mixed media porträts? I have no idea what is best for patells and crayons.

    XO
    Bettina

    1. Hi Bettina, thanks so much for stopping by! I love to use SpectraFix fixative, because it is non-toxic. The varnish that I use is a spray varnish by Lascaux. 🙂
