Under my Skin

My latest portrait. Again I have enjoyed so much making it. Initially this was just meant as a quick study for a painting I wanted to make, but I had so much fun drawing it that I just carried on. And I really like the raw, unpolished look of it.

Scanning this portrait was quite a challenge actually. Somehow it was a bit difficult to get all the details without becoming too rough, and the color correction was even more of a problem. And as we know all screens are different, so when I look at it on my laptop the colors are quite different than on my tablet. And in real life they also are a bit softer and smoother. Nevertheless, I hope what you see on your screen is pleasing…

Under my Skin. Charcoal pencil and soft pastel on 190 gsm (90 lb) watercolor paper (Strathmore visual journal, mixed media), 23 x 30 cm (9 x 12 inch).
