Whirling

I have been making larger monoprints this weekend! I bought a 12 x 14 inch gelli plate and I must say that in this case size does matter… 😉 I love the larger plate!

Today I have been painting on top of my monoprint. It’s a female derwish again, an image that has been returning several times now in my monoprints and paintings. The whirling derwish in my work symbolizes a kind of intimate mysticism, the union with the divine beloved. It’s a symbol that is very dear to me and it will probably not be the last time I have painted it…
