Standing stone

I am using this oval shape quite often in my monoprints and I am noticing that it can have various meanings to me. Sometimes it represents an egg, symbolizing new life and such. Other times I see mysterious monuments in a vast landscape. Like this one, which reminds me of a standing stone, an ancient megalith. Don’t know, this shape just intrigues me…

Standing Stone, monoprint, acrylic paint and oil paint on bristol paper.
Size: just a little under A4 (approx. 8 x 11 inch).

  1. First time at your website Juna. Your work is stunning!!!! Absolutely love how this oval/eggs seems to have a 3D quality to it. It looked raised/embossed. Also love the colours you have used in all your other prints and works. Lovely!!!
If you ever plan on creating a online class for your monoprinting backgrounds with gelli plate, I would love to take the course.

    1. Thank you so much Astra, I’m really glad you like it! 🙂 I am indeed planning to create an online class for my monoprinting techniques, but I need some time to develop it well.
