OK. So what do you do when you made a painting you really love and two days later you have to make another painting? You get nervous! 😉
Yes, today I was starting to get a little bit nervous. How could I ever make another painting like that? Right, I can’t. So now what. The good old inner critic came right out of its hiding place: you accidentally made a nice painting, but you can’t expect to keep up with that. Of course that can’t last. And you have a lot of work to do today, so you will never have enough time and focus to paint something worthy. You will have to fail at some point. Probably now.
So that’s kind of what I was feeling. What I am learning though, is just staying with what’s true in the moment and take that as a starting point for the painting. So right now I am somewhat nervous to fail. Well, that would make a rather interesting topic for a painting, wouldn’t it?
The painting process was a bit of a struggle, because I was tired tonight. So I have spent quite a long time working on the skywalking figure, even though that probably isn’t very noticeable.
But in the end I feel good about the painting. It feels good that despite the doubts and tiredness I made a painting anyway. And I feel it’s a good representation of my day today.
Skywalking, mixed media (acrylic paint and colored pencil) on canvas board.
Size: 24 x 30 cm (9.4 x 11.8 inch).

Again a beautiful, mysterious work. So much feeling into this. This is like some others said a beautiful series. Would make a great exhibition
That would be something!
Cheer up Juna! Did you do a ugly face to your inner critic after you made this beautiful painting??? You should! 😉
Haha, yes I should!
I love this Juna. I think it might be my favorite of your series. I’m so glad you pushed through all the obstacles. Look what was born as a result!
Thanks so much, Terri! So good to know. Yes, I’m happy that I managed to make one despite the doubts and tiredness!
