The basis of this painting was made the same day as my Leaves paintings, with a collage layer and then many layers of acrylic paint on top.

However, I finished this painting differently, by glazing the focal images in a ruby red color and then adding a high gloss finish to them so that they stand out even more from the background (the high gloss is not visible on screen).

They make me think of rubies.
