I’m so excited! Starting the 1st of June I will be participating in the challenge Art 101 – 101 Artworks in 101 Days. This challenge was initiated by artist Stephanie Cant as part of a Facebook group for budding artists who want to inspire and support each other in building their blogs, shops and portfolios through networking.

Basically we will be making 101 works of art in 101 days. At first the idea to make art in such a structured way made me a bit a lot nervous. My inner critic started doubting right away: “I will never be able to commit to this”, “I will definitely fail”, “What if I don’t have any inspiration to make art every day”, “I won’t have enough time”… and so on.

But the idea kept pulling me and I felt more and more happy when I thought of it. So then I just decided to take the plunge. What the heck if I don’t make it, I will just go for it and see what it will bring me. No problem if I am not inspired on a certain day, it doesn’t have to be Art with a capital A all the time, it’s all about having fun and letting the creative flow grow.

Of course I don’t have to produce 1 artwork a day, just 101 in 101 days (I bet I will be making fifty artworks in the last week, heeheee 😉 ). And the idea is to blog about this experience on a regular basis.

I think it will be a great way for me to loosen up, to build my portfolio, to let my own style emerge and also to have fun with like-minded people who are doing the same project.

So next Sunday June 1st I will dive into this adventure. Right now we are all preparing our blogs, Facebook pages, Etsy shops, materials and so on, to be ready for next week.
